Merry Christmas! from The Modern Diary


We spent Christmas Eve with my daughter and her husband and baby Hazel.  They went home to his folks' home last weekend so they could keep it small.  So Hazel finally met two more great grandparents and his parents had a chance to see her for the second time.  Really keeping the circle small.  So hard with a new little one, but we benefited as we got to spend the time with them. Finding Pleasures from Quilting through Rose-colored Trifocals!

 Good morning and welcome to the shortest day of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere) which means it's also the longest night of the year.  It's always a gray time of the year here in Northeast Ohio -- we crave sunshine as there's still a big hunk of winter weather ahead!?!  So today, I have few quick ideas to share that are helping me stay hopeful as we finish out this epic year.

The Changing of the Quilty Season from Life in the Scrapatch

 


It is the weekend of the changing of the quilt seasons.

I am ticking away my fall (and some summer) quilts

 and bringing out the Christmas and Winter quilts. 

Katniss is helping.

Katniss says, "Why don't we just decorate the cat tree this year?"

It would save a lot of work rearranging the furniture.

For example, the cat tree usually goes out to a corner on our enclosed front porch.

Also, the cats treat the ornaments like their new cat toys anyway.

We will have a Christmas Tree this year.
